Nisbet Ranch Sales, LLC, a top-selling ranch real estate firm in Texas, is celebrating 60 years of doing business.  The firm goes back to 1953 when Helen Nisbet started what was then known as Ranch Market selling ranches state-wide and was one of the first to specialize in ranch sales at the time.  What would then span three generations, hundreds of millions of dollars in sales and hundreds of thousands of acres across the Texas Hill Country, her legacy is still being celebrated and continued 60 years later.

Helen Nisbet came to San Antonio in the early 1940s after attending Stanford at just 15 years old and graduating at 19.  There she met her husband, Alfred Nisbet, a college sports star who became one of San Antonio’s first ophthalmologists and later a major force in the establishment of San Antonio’s medical school.  The Nisbets bought their first Texas Hill Country ranch in the early 1950s and the impetus into ranch sales were Helen’s many friends and acquaintances who urged her to get licensed so she could represent them in finding them their own ranches.

Their son, David Nisbet, began selling ranches in 1976 and has hundreds of millions of dollars in sales, mostly in the Hill Country.  Their grandson, John Nisbet, came into the business in 2005.  In addition to Nisbet Ranch Sales, LLC, David and John operate Texas Ranch Partners, LLC where they work with individual investors to “flip” ranches just as Helen did throughout her career with her private investors.  “Although my grandmother isn’t here to see it, she would be very proud of the legacy she’s left behind and in our celebrating 60 years and counting,” said Broker John Nisbet.
